What a great read! Anna shares secrets of her family, sibling rivalry, her friends, her classmates, all told through a bunch of real-life stories. Sex, scandal, money - it has a little of everything. It is a picture of life growing up in a small town in the 50's and what happens afterward. I really did enjoy it!
Anna, really knocks your socks off. Opened it all up for us to see. I can see a little of everyones lives in this book. The pace is good and it's very interesting reading to say the least. Let us know when the next book is coming out, please.

Great read. I enjoyed the book from the very first page and all the way through.
Only people that have lived in a SMALL Town...can relate to the truth of Small town living. It teems with so many layers and stories....and also secrets that are taken to the grave. Anna has captured a part of it all...and she has had to reach deep and take a long breath to "tell her Small Town story"....there will be people that think 99% of it is fiction...but...they have never lived in that Small Town. I do believe our Southern writers know the complex and passion that can come into focus with a Small town heritage...think Horton Foote...and so many more that got their stories...that could not be made up....from the life lived in a Small town. I can only hope she has another 'story' to tell.
Confessions of a Crazy Fox, is a memoir by Anna Mullins about her life in Texas. Anna displays her writing talent by giving the reader a real sense of life in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. She also touches on the lives of her grandparents who had migrated to the United States to escape religious persecution in Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This together with a most honest account of the trials and tribulations of family life, Confessions Of A Crazy Fox, is a compelling read. I look forward to Anna's next book!
This book--and books like it--are essential. They are the last memories of a very special time in our nation's history. Anna covers the tight family bonds that can sometimes lead to tensions. She takes us through the many ups and downs of her life in a way that only a talented storyteller can. I hope she'll move on to another book--perhaps a fictional tale about a girl growing up in the 50s? Maybe it's just that I love the 50s and can't read enough about that decade!
Anna Mullins' Confessions. . . is the detailed story of a Texas family -- who could have lived anywhere, any time, but this time in the specifics of place. Told in uncomfortable detail and with truth in all matters, this book describes the painful conflicts of family and also the deep joys of family. Love is mingled with envy, lust, caring, betrayal, death and life. This family account also has its mysterious moments of psychic revelations which cannot be fully explained.
The author is one who has survived ordeals and demonstrated the power of the human spirit through all the trials and the high joyful moments of life. Relationships between parent and child are of utmost importance, where hurts are forgiven and doors remain open to future possibilities. The contrast of such moments with the times when little is forgiven but one must keep going in spite of the pain and anger are described in powerful scenes. The catharsis of telling the truth about her life, the high moments, the low and desperate moments, the funny glitches, becomes for the author a path to healing. For one who is deeply spiritual yet damaged by the underside of religion in displays of human weaknesses in authority figures, Anna comes through scathed but whole.
This story tells of human failures, but also of human accomplishments, and the author has honored her family by giving them their place in the sun, despite the ups and downs of their lives. She will survive. And let's hope she will continue to write more stories of human nature and its achievement through her persistence and faith that in the end all will be well.

Anna Maria Kolojaco was Texas born and raised. A loving, traditional family and sense of community surrounded little Anna and her older brother Jimmy. Even as a child, Anna was a deep thinker with a personality that rarely took things at face value, undoubtedly a result of the inherited DNA of a clairvoyant great-grandmother and helped along by a favorite cousin who possessed the same gift. Perhaps it was her "seeing," converging with her defiance that caused a mighty clash with those who instructed her to believe "on faith" the Church's cumbersome, esoteric doctrines. Eventually Anna would eschew those teachings altogether, seeking her own spiritual truths.
Young Anna's aspirations were simple enough. She wanted a traditional life of marriage and family, similar to what her loving parents had provided for her. She married her high school sweetheart, Gus Mullens at 17 but sadly life would be a far cry from what she had imagined.
Anna's fascinating book is part memoir, part essay. She genuinely narrates her life's twists and turns while seamlessly expounding on how those events influenced her inner world. Ultimately her book strives to set the record straight by shedding light on a plethora of darkened family secrets. CONFESSIONS OF A CRAZY FOX was a delight to read and I found myself agreeing with many of Anna's conclusions about life.
